HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUY!
Monday, 02 November 2009

Image

Although he likes to keep it secret, it has come to my attention that it's Mr. Guy's birthday today, so if you're stopping by Coffee HQ  maybe wind him up by asking for a soy-frappa-chai-latte before wishing him a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Ah, Monday mornings - and a full week ahead! Time for another long black I think....

C4 Coffee HQ Presents OTTO Stovetop

Well it's Wednesday already! We spent Saturday making coffees at the Blue Dog 12/6 hour madness. There were so many cyclists and the day went so quickly - congrats to all who took part and Blue Dog for making it all happen.

And then Monday arrived and with it the OTTO! We wrote about it a wee while ago - go on scroll down but make sure you come back - and they're finally here. In a truly amazing case with 2 cups, a tamper, a DVD and booklet and the OTTO itself, we've been entranced by it ever since. It's truly a beautiful shiny thing, with amazing construction, and makes a great espresso.

We only have limited stock so if you want to own one of these marvels click here!

Also please get out your calendars and put a couple of red x's next to Saturday 24 and Monday 26th October as the Coffee HQ crew will be taking a small but well earned break for Labour Weekend so we'll be closed...

and thanks to the magic of Wikipedia I also know why we're closed... "Its origins are traced back to the eight-hour working day movement that arose in the newly founded Wellington colony in 1840, primarily because of carpenter Samuel Parnell's refusal to work more than eight hours a day"!!!

See, you learn something new every day if you're awake enough to pay attention. Which reminds me, it must be time for a coffee...

C4's New Coffee Tins, The Blue Dog 6/ 12hr Day Nighter

New Coffee Tins Arrive at C4 Coffee HQ

Ah, we've been so busy the month has flown and I have to put my hand up and admit that I've been a little neglectful of the website. But here's some news too good to ignore... our very own C4 Coffee coffee tins have arrived at the headquarters and we couldn't be more thrilled. A classic take on the C4 branding, these tins feature a 350 gram capacity and a good fitting lid so that your beans are kept safe from harm.

These shiny metal objects of coffee joy will retail for a mere $5, and we encourage you to use and reuse them when picking up your coffee from us - a great way of reducing all the packaging that clutters this great cricketing nation of ours.

And speaking of joyous scenery and the great outdoors, C4 are proud sponsors of Blue Dog Event's 2009 Giant 12 hour Day/Nighter and 6 Hour Blast at McLeans Forest Park this weekend. We'll be serving up tasty caffeine fixes for riders and their support crew, so don't hesitate to come see us and say hello! Should be a great weekend and thanks to Rod for all his efforts - and great taste in coffee!

Alrighty then, time to say goodnight but we'll be back on the news wagon soon so check back often...

EDIT: Re: the whole cricket thing I may have spoken too soon. And it's another cold Christchurch morning, time to krank up the roaster and get a cup of krank in my hands... have a great day everyone!

One door closes (temporarily)...
Scotty's well into his three month mission to the United States to cycle and then cycle some more. But he's obviously finding time to visit cafes - American style - and enjoy the finer things in life!

Hope all is going well and we miss you!!!

Follow his travels here!

Another door opens...
And introducing Rod, our new face here at C4's Coffee HQ. Rod can be found busy in despatch, delivery and is keen to get into every aspect of the business. He has a wealth of knowledge to bring to the C4 team as an ex-cafe owner and we are proud to have him with us. So next time you pop in say hello - don't be shy!

At C4  we have an obsession with stovetops. They're functioning works of art, and they can make an amazing cup of espresso given half the chance! If you love stovetops like we do then it's time to get excited because OTTO is on the way...

C4 should be receiving stock of the new OTTO stovetop in the next month. A seriously stylish take on the Atomic stovetop - with enough difference to keep it interesting - the OTTO won the Australian Design Mark at the prestigous 2008 Australian International Design Awards and is currently a finalist in the International Design Excellence Awards in America (IDEA).

Built after a four and a half year development phase, and made almost completely of stainless steel for longevity, OTTO is a modern design classic. OTTO comes with a tamper, the OTTO experience DVD providing a barista training session, two Italian designed latte glasses and a stainless milk jug, packaged in a robust premium travel case.

Register now to be amongst the first in the country to own one of these modern design classics.
